Dr. Charles Laux is the Director of Orchestras at Lassiter High School in the Cobb County School District in Marietta, Georgia. He also serves as an Essential Elements consultant and contributing editor for the Hal Leonard Corporation.

Dr. Laux holds degrees in music education from Ohio University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. With a career spanning nearly 30 years, he has taught in many different capacities and worked with a diverse group of students while serving Assistant Professor of String Music Education at Kennesaw State University and as an orchestra director at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Nevada, Florida, Ohio, and Gerogia.
