Setting up your string students for success!

Diagnose and correct common technical problems to allow your students to play their very best.

This session discusses a string player’s technical setup and how it pertains to successful string playing. A string player’s set-up impacts tone production, intonation, expression, and the ability to play without pain. Common technical problems with posture, the right hand, and the left hand will be diagnosed and corrected using best practices and multiple teaching strategies. Multiple pedagogical philosophies and texts will be referenced (ie. Suzuki, Rolland, Galamian, Gillespie, and others). Real-world scenarios and solutions are shown using student photos and videos. Each instrument will be addressed.  Scenarios of students playing musical examples are shown.
